Update Time:
Went to the NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants). There I realized how big of a dork I am. There were a lot of cool gear but who did I flock to? First, it was Tom V Jones (aka TV Jones) He and I talked about pickups for about an hour when I mentioned I was looking for a pickup that had "Spank, Growl and Drive". Sadly enough, he knew exactly what I was talking about. He then reached into his personal bag and pulled out this pickup. Plugged it in to this guitar contraption and boom... exactly what I was looking for. He told me how it was made and what gave it that sound. Then he told me that particular pickup was the first prototype and the second he just put in Brian Setzer's guitar (and isn't telling him). He didn't even have a name for it yet. I asked if I could get one... sure. Then I asked if he would put "proto3" on it... sure. RAWK!!! Like I said... NERD!!!
Second stop King Doublebass. Brad, the Vp was AWESOME. we talked about making me a custom upright with pinstriping. The problem is what exactly do I want? So, homework for ya'll. Go out and find me the coolest pinstriping you can. Different color combos, different designs, whatever. I will probably order it mid July so give up some ideas. I almost didn't have to buy one because I almost won one in a raffle. I was off by one number. FAH Q!!!! Oh well.
But I did get to hang out with those guys and TV Jones at 2 afterparties. I rockstared it up badly last weekend.
When I got to work Monday I was asked to run sound for someone who was coming in to do a clinic. The clinic was cancelled but guess who it was suppose to be...

Ha, I think I'm insulted! And actually, I didn't know who it was, I had to click on "properties" to get a clue. But unlike a lot of young 'uns, I do know who Winger is!
