I'm back!
Yep, your resident guy that no-one knows is back to do his thing, which apparently seems to be sitting around bored. But at least I now have the Internet to keep me bored!
What's new?
Well, dropped back onto the face of the Earth, and found out that people aren't quite what they seem. It's never a good idea to fall in love with an Idea, just some advice from the old man here.
Went and saw 2 good movies lately. Borat was perhaps the most rediculous and hilarious movie that I've seen in quite a long time. It was far from perfect, and there are certain scenes that have been burned into my brain that I can NEVER forget, they shall haunt me until my last dying breath gives me respite from their madness.
Pretty good movie, though, a solid A-!
Crank was a $1 theatre surprise for certain. It was quite mindless and fun in a GTA kind of way. The directors/producers shared my somewhat frightening disregard for humans and took much delight in their suffering, as do I personally. Random, inexplicable Violence and Sex isn't just the American Way, it's pretty much ingrained into most every human being, and should be acknowledged as part of the darker psyche of humanity. Good to get those feelings out in a movie theatre, I think.
Aside from a rediculous plot and simple but solid acting, it scores a nice B for random acts of hilarity and inexplicableness.
PS: Yes, that's not a real word.

I was a pretty boy in a blue uniform for most of my Army time, though I did get to spend some lovely time in Africa getting shot at, just to prove that no matter how bad it gets, you can add bullets to make it worse. I wouldn't consider 'The Old Guard' an easy assignment. 12+hr workdays, 3000+ funerals (by my own count), insufferable perfection considered 'normal', and pretty much no recongnition at all. It's unsurprising to me at least that there were over 150 divorces and 13 suicide attempts (9 successful) in my 2yrs stationed there, this from a unit size of only 750 or so.
