Well, winter has finally arrived, and I am still in Perth. Been told that there are a number of important family events, birthdays and such that I must spend in Perth before I head off to enjoy myself. Obligations! They just swoop down and attack you.
One thing which annoyed me, today I got my annual fly inoculation, yes jabbed by a needle. This will protect me against some flu strains (but not all). What was annoying is that 5 mins after the jab my arm began to hurt, and 30 mins later I was falling asleep. I got home ok, then slept for 3 hours, but my arm still hurts!
Anyway, not too great a hardship, but I am missing south east Asia, lots of fun. The plan now is to leave end July / early Aug and go to Cambodia, and do a little time working with some UN / NGO buddies of mine. These people take conveys into the poorer areas of Cambo (90%) and deliver food, medicine, supplies, take nurses (sometimes Drs) and other professionals and help out. Greatly enjoyable, but exhausting work (let the young guys do the heavy stuff is my motto). Then back to more relaxing duties.
Did I mention that I have been asked if I want to buy a bar in Pattaya, Thailand? Surprisingly, I am thinking about it.
The annoying part of this new plan is that Perth has finally succumbed to winter. It is cold and windy and wet outside. I am strong I will survive.
Take care.
