Good News (for me)
Just to bring you all up to date, for the last few months I have been in a legal squabble with my brother over our deceased mother's estate. OK, families! She left him everything, which is a fair amount of money, and for me -- nothing. Her reasons? My 'brother' compelled her to change her will while I was overseas.
I thought about what I should do, decided to do something, contacted a lawyer, came back to Aust, and took legal action. After three months the result -- success. Yay for me.
I can add that both my brother and I are adopted, and that we were never that close. The really annoying thing is that when I was three I asked for a brother! If I had kept my mouth shut I would have been down one major annoyance in my life. Anyway... Time to move on.
I will one other point. The next time I hear a politician babble on about 'families' I will free to put forward a counterpoint.
