~ So I've chartered a sailboat for my fifty'th birthday in June, for nine days. It's an area I've sailed and kayaked a little before, and I really like it there. I'll be sailing into Bah Habah this time, instead of driving there like a more conventional tourista, Cadillac Mountain should be spectacular from the sea. And although tourista I will be, I'll at least be able to be smug about arriving in places on a boat, that I sailed myself!
~ It should be fabulous: upscale tourista in Bar Harbor, Puffins on Eastern Egg Rock, artsy stuff and Millay in Camden, lawbstas in New Harbour, rounding Pemaquid Point with it's lovely lighthouse, cocktails at sunset on deck in the warm fading light, going to sleep to the soft sounds and motion of the sea...
~ Can I leave now...

I'd love it if the Yanks could sweep the Sox this week, but I'll settle for 2-out-of-3. For once, I want to see some pitcher have the stones to throw inside to Ortiz and back that fat fuck off the plate. You'd think he eats dinner on it the way he crowds it. wink

You'd think I would have kayaked whitewater at this point, but for some strange reason no. Ocean, yes, freshwater no. Lots of canoeing up to Class IV, the requisite rafting, and the occassional swim, but no kayaks. I must be old school, or else just too stubborn to want to learn to roll. Anyway, we finally found a cottage right on a pond on the west side of Mt. Desert, away from the Bah Hahbah scene. Should be sweet. Last real vacation with the oldest before he heads off to college in the Fall.

And BTW, Happy Birthday! ARRR!!! ARRR!!!
