It's about time I updated my journal. Time just flies when you're having fun. And I have been having fun. Well, sort of.
0. What happened to SelenaKyle? Selena, if you read this, come back to us.
1. The weekend turned out to be pretty much of a non event. I was planning to do a two day course in Swedish Massage,
but something came up at the last moment and I had to cancel.
2. My may recall my redundancy rant (Thu, Sep 11). Well, everyone in my section is out the door in April. Everyone, except me and my boss. You'd think, I'd be happy or relieved. I'm fuming
Well, sort of. Everyone I work with will be gone just like that. I've been with the company more than 6 years now and I was kinda hoping to use that redundancy payout to visit Gemany, Switzerland, Canada and the US in June/July/August next year. Maybe, that why they're keeping me, so they don't have to pay me out. I have no idea what my job will look like next year. My boss is sympathetic to my cause, but her hands are tied.
3. All this uncertainty is wreaking havoc on my emotions. Especially, October is always an emotional time for me... for a various reasons... my mother passed away during this time 5 years ago and let me tell you you don't really get over it completely. You just learn learn to live with it... or not.
My normally cheery demeanor gives way to bouts of moodyness and depression. And then I pull crazy shit just to distract myself.
Now, September I'm beginning to settle down a bit... just a bit
4. Today, I had good day. Managed to focus on my work. I listened to 'Black' by Sarah McLachlan at least 20 times. It's uncanny how the lyrics describes my job at the moment...
As the walls are closing in
And the colors fade to black
As my eyes are falling fast asleep to me
And I follow the tracks that lead me down
And I never follow what is right
And they wonder sometimes
when they see all the sadness
And pain the truth brings to light
'Cause I can't see no reason
What is blind cannot see
'Cause I want what is pleasin'
All I take should be free
What I rob from the innocent ones
What I'd steal from the womb
As the walls are closing in
And the colours fade to black
And the night is falling fast and deep into the sea
And in darkness, all that I can see
The frightened and the weak
Are forced to cling to mistakes they know nothing of
At mercy are the meek
'Cause I can't see no reason
What is blind cannot see
'Cause I want what is pleasin'
All I take should be free
What I rob from the innocent ones
What I'd steal from the womb ...
'Black' by Sarah McLachlan from the X-Files soundtrack
Ok, folks what music are you listening to if you're down? Shall I proclaim Friday as International Lyric day?
