Thank you all for your thoughts. And yes, Im still among the living.
Ive been busy. Yeah, busy procrastinating. I think some of you can relate with that. Ive got so much I need to get done but end sitting on my butt and doing nothing.
Ok, its not all that bad. Ive been cleaning my computer room (den). Well, thats been a work in progress for the last couple of months. But today, being a public holiday I wanted to get something productive done. Like cleaning my room and updating my journal.
Isnt it strange that all of Australia celebrates(?) the Queens Birthday on June 10, except for Western Australia. That makes sense doesnt it? Im sure there is a good reason (clerical error back in 1831?), buggered if I know what it is. Ah well, back to cleaning my room.
My week consisted mostly of work and little else. No saucy tales of debauchery here this week. Sorry to disappoint.
Saturday, I went to a long time friends place. He just turned 38 and we ended up watching a heap of DVDs including Detroit Rock City and Ned Kelly while knocking back a couple of beers.
If there is one thing I am rather proud of, that is my ability to choose gifts for people that I care about. I said before, I love shopping. Ok, maybe love is a too strong word for the male of the species to describe their fondness of going out and acquiring load of useless junk. But nevertheless, shopping for gifts is the best. I select gifts based on the person's personality, hobbies and interests. It's almost like a ritual. I try to get into people heads to figure what they would like best. I research their interests on the net. Then use my intuition to make my final choice. Occasionally I strike out, but mostly I hit the bullseye.
I ended up getting my friend a block mount of the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King movie poster with Aragorn holding his sword at the hilt. The image of Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) invoked something in me that I find hard to describe. Something about righting a wrong and being recognized and restored to ones proper place in society. I felt that that my friend has been overlooked for too long.
I haven't read the LotR books, but it is on my list of things to do. I'm looking forward the 3rd movie later this year.
And speaking of things to do, I really need to update my resume and start jobhunting. My current job has an expiry date and in any case, Im just too comfortable there anyway.
Im also working on a personal website to promote what I can do and I will be looking for some work on the side as well. Ill be sure to tell you all when its up. Naturally, Ill promote SG in any way I can. Its just going to take a little while, though. Maybe until the end of the year. Have patience.
Love, hugs and take care.
