Three things that I have enjoyed headaches from in the last three days.

I know I said I was gonna start it earlier but I finally cracked open The Sound and The Fury. I've been told (by some of you) to make it through the first chapter and I haven't had this much of a reading headache since I took my first shot at Portrait...

I know, right? I've played keep away for far too long. blush

I was actually talking about you, the other day. My new dude is talking about making a digital jukebox, one that every visitor to our home can plug their ipod into and we will instantly be privy to all their music. The second he explained this idea to me, I was like, "Ooooo, I have this buddy in Cali who needs to come pay us a visit once you've built this...".

Ok, I've been gone long enough.

Things are finally falling back into place.

The car is fixed, the internet works, lent is over. Now its time to get back to walking and reading and focusing on the finances (which the govt decicded to return some of, thankfully.)

Things are, for the most part, back to normal.

I'm starting to really enjoy the volunteer job at...

Go ahead and start the youtube video below now while you read. It is the music only and therefore, you won't feel slighted in missing something visually stimulating. Who knows, you might find a new band that you really like.

Sobriety is a bitch. Just saying.

For those of you that have known me for more than a year, it is that time again. For those of you that haven't welcome to my little self induced hell on earth. This certain hell begins everyyear with the mental recitation of a poem so here you go:

A Drunken Man's Praise Of Sobriety

COME swish around, my pretty punk,...

A couple years ago, I realized I needed to cut way back on my alcohol consumption or I was going to become an alcoholic. So, I quit drinking for a few months completely. It wasn't easy at first, but it got easier as I went along. Now, I'm back to being able to drink casually and not over do it. But every now and then I feel that urge to get plastered sneaking up on me again. So, I'm thinking I might adopt your Irish Lent thing next year. Not a bad idea at all! And I'm half Irish!

House drama sucks. I feel like I am running a day care. Everyone is worried about their stuff and what I need is never an issue.

Nothing a little of this can't help.

Andrew Bird.

Grizzly Bear

And of course

Tom Waits.

Suddenly, a glass (not a shot) of whiskey and a cigar sound really nice.

Taking a friend out for his bday tonight. I...

Depends on my mood, really. Generally, the music I seek out to comfort me immediately relates to what's the source of anxiety... but, for some reason, if I'm just on the verge of freaking out this song calms me every time.

ELO. I bonded with "Tightrope" when I had a bad trip on acid and someone played it to lift me up. Even now 20 years later it has the same effect.

I love the Tom Waits song you posted..."You'll never be free of me...You'll make a tree from me..."

Details on what we call Godfather Day.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Years ago, Steve (a best friend of mine) and I decided to watch the whole Godfather Trilogy on the day after Christmas. That has become a tradition and has grown into the awful beast known as Godfather Day. It starts at 7:30 am when he...

I know you guys must be sick of hearing this gooshy crap but when I read moonbeam's Winnie the Pooh blog it made me feel all warm and wanted and stuff. I might even go get my niece the book for Christmas.

Today is moonbeam's birthday. It sucks to have a birthday so close to the holidays so I am trying to organize a "holidayless"...
