No need to worry, I have returned from the land of the dead (at least inebriated) and have tasted their wares and have rejoined them and have once more taken over my kingdom. (actually, I just made it through lent and started drinking again.)
So, why not, I'll begin with that. St. Pat's was the same it has been every year for awhile. I extended my irish lent (for those of you who don't know what that is, I don't drink between the day after Superbowl until the Thurs. before St. Pat's) by one day making it an even 40 days ( I think. I kinda did the math in my head toward the end of my early Mardi Gras weekend.). So, Friday was the party at the new house, Sat was the parade, Sunday was a giant feast of corned beef and cabbage, Monday turned out to be a decent drunk at Buffalo Bill's (a brewery by the house) and Tues was back to the city for Ireland 32 (just about the most politically driven Irish Pub in the city) and then to my good friends back at McNally's. Drink drink drink drink drink (How many drinks is that? A lot.)(From Resevoir Dogs but Drinks instead of Dicks). Yup, that pretty much sums up that one.
And now onto the house.
Gotta new one. It's big and nice and needs a lot of work and I'm about to kill some of my room mates and yeah, I should have some pictures soon. It is mine to share with my brother but mine alone to take care of. I just about have everything moved in and all of the utilities in order. (It took me two and a half weeks and about 10 hours of talking to an operator to get DSL finally installed correctly. No wonder you haven't heard from me.)
And then there is work. I am in the calm before the storm. And it is the storm I have been nervously anticipating since November. I'm gonna be busy soon. Really really busy. Which leads me to my next point.
Me being busy only lends myself even less time to a certain someone of which I don't get to see enough. She and I seem to have opposite schedules on everything. The good part about it is that we both seem to be extremely patient and no if we keep attempting, the fates will allow us some open time to indulge in playful things like skinny dipping at the local pool and dare only versions of truth and dare and a drinking is mandatory one on one game of strip poker. Things like that. The important stuff.
Well, that is all.
Except for those of you keeping track. 1) I'm in the house 2) St. PAt's is over and 3) The weather is getting nicer (even though it did rain today.) so, I have no more excuses for not walking. And if it rains, I will read. I'm about to enter into a Russian Author session in my life. I am intimidated but know that I will come out of it a better man.
So, what am I listening too? I stil can't get enough of Titus Andronicus. Their title song is my theme but they have a song on their Daytrotter sessions that I particularly love called Waking Up Drunk. (Go get it, it is free.)
And my crush?
Hmmmmmmmm....
I gotta admit, I thought Cate Blanchett was stunning in that Benjamin Button movie.
