There is nothing like coming home and finding a package waiting for you at your door.
Since I've started visiting SG, I've made a decent attempt to make new friends. A lot of people here may not be the nicest people I've met. Some, I actually loathe. A few, I've met in person and they really seem like they will eventually be good friends (as long as they don't mind hanging out with an old (sorta) whiteguy who is usually quiet and has the ability to consume large amounts of Guinness.)
Nobody has been more accepting of friendship, more willing to meet and find out about someone as Connielingus. She has, in the space of a few months, become more than someone I happen to know on the internet. She is more than someone who reads my journal and comments generically. (Not that anyone does that mind you. I happen to be growing fonder of all of my friends everytime I leave a blog ) She is someone who has already accepted me as a friend. She wants to know about me. She wants to share her experiences with me and give me advice on mine. She sends me a Valentine gift with candy and cd's and, well...yeah and sex dice in them. (How I'm gonna explain that to the old lady, I don't know.) She is someone who'll recieve (and send) Christmas cards from me. She is someone who, if I had to visit Jersey (god forbid) would take me out to drinks and introduce me to friends and family and probably buy me a lapdance at the local boobie bar. In short, she has become someone whom (without meeting face to face) I would consider a friend. (Plus, she's damned sexy)
It is a unique experience for me, this meeting people over the internet. It has taken me a little to come out of my shell and start to meet new people here. It was just this past week that I actually met people from this site and they seemed to be as welcoming. It's kind of comforting. I was just getting to the point where I was questioning wheter or not it was worth it to meet new people. It's nice to find people with things and interests I have in common.
So, if you haven't me connie yet and you see her around, be good to her. She's a great person and has a lot to offer. (Plus, she's the one person I know with worse handwriting than me.) And just maybe, she'll be your friend too.
