You remember that foul evening when you heard the banshees howl
There was lousy drunken bastards singing billy is in the bowl
They took you up to midnight mass and left you in the lurch
So you dropped a button in the plate and spewed up in the church.
-The Pogues.
Man, I just finished the marathon of great times. I finally (after waiting for ever ) saw the Pogues play. I've seen Shane MacGowan play before but this time I was able to see him play with the Pogues and it was my little version of heaven on earth.
I finally got home from Portland after a wonderful trip with my girlfriend. We met my Dad on his way back from fishing. That night, we went to see Billy Bragg, who was a lot better than I expected. That was Thurs.. Fri was the symphony with my Dad. Sat. was Young Frankenstein at an outdoor theater in S.F.. Sun, I took it easy and then the Pogues last night. Even though I was pretty exhausted, it would've been wrong not to finish last night with a couple of rounds at O'Riley's on Green St.
I'm a litttle torn now though. I have to work at my second job tonight. I pretty much only work there when I want to. Nosferatu is playing at the Parkway (an old theater where they ripped out the seats and put in couches and serve beer and food.) Normally, I would get someone to cover my shift but I just missed the last two weeks out of town and I know I won't be able to work on Thurs.. I'd feel a little guilty not showing up tonight. We'll see. Maybe I'll be able to rush over after work.
I get the feeling that the Guinness from last night is going to make my morning pretty miserable. It's a good thing that I had the foresight to take the day off. It was worth it. I had a great time.

Thank you.

That Parkway place sounds like heaven. Pity all we have is over priced, crowded, cell phone infested theaters round my way. I'd play hooky all the time if we had spots like that.
