Dedicated to the people I work with:
You start a conversation you can't even finish.
You're talking a lot but you not saying anything.
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed.
Say something once, why say it again.
And on the same note:
I wish you wouldn't say that
I thought I'd have to come right over
I thought I made it clear enough
I guess I'll have to make it clearer
Both by the Talking heads.
Work is work. If it were fun, they wouldn't call it work. I'm stuck in Santa Cruz working on a new Safeway and the only good thing about it is that I found a pub that serves a realy good glass of Guinness. The Poet and the Patriot is the name and it makes me all nostalgic for the homeland. (Not that I was born there. My family owns land and we visit the cousins there a lot and I plan on moving there eventuallly but for now I can pretend to be nostalgic for something that isn't mine, yet.)
Apparently, there is a really good Irish folk band playing there on Thurs. and since I still will be stuck here, 'll probably drop by for a visit and a glass (or a couple, few, whatever) of Guinness. It's gonna make up for the fact that I will be missing Flogging Molly in the city on Thurs. (not really).
It's ok though because next week, I'm going to see Billy Bragg on Thurs., the Symphony on Fri., Young Frankenstein at the outdoor cinemas on Sat., rest on Sun. (If God gets to, so does his competition) and then the mother of all live shows I've ever wanted to see, The Pogues on Mon. There will be a decent amount of consumed beverages in that weekend. Not to mention, I'm kicking the whole thing off with 5 days in Portland for vacation, berr drinking and coffeeshop visiting. All I gotta do is make it until Fri.
I don't wanna sound like I'm tooting my own horn, its just been a long time since I allowed myself some time to do the things I really want to. I've been looking forward to this for awhile. Hope everyone is well. (All three of you)

Funny , I recognize the first set of lyrics , but not the second . And I own most of the heads catalogue too . Getting old sucks , I probably would have picked that out 10 years ago . That sounds like a great weekend plan to me . I love Young Frankenstein . For years it was my favorite movie , but now I have so many more to chose from , it's hard to say . Still has to be in the top 5 though .
