I'm having a really hard time remembering about this
business.
I am not, however, having a hard time at all sleeping lately. I've gotten myself on a regular-looking sleep schedule, and things seem to be better. I still feel tired during the day, even when I get exactly eight hours of sleep, but I'm sleeping pretty solidly from 10-12 at night to 8-10 in the morning. I find myself waking up after I've had exactly eight hours, but I'm foggy-eyed enough to make myself go back to sleep until I actually have to be up. In theory, I hope it'll help with the daily tiredness.
I don't know though... I got up around nine-thirty this morning, and I went to the dining hall to get breakfast. It's not 10:30 and all I want is to go back to sleep. I went to bed a little before one a.m. (I'm allowed, the Daily Show was on), so it shouldn't be an issue of not having enough sleep...
I had a very long and drawn-out dream that I was Sam Vimes in a slightly modified version of Night Watch. I was still chasing Carcer, but we'd gone into the future instead of the past, and were trying to figure out computers and how to send Clacks instead of emails. Nobby was even there, trying to help me figure out the Clacks, and I asked him how they worked. He said "Axe, sir" in a tone that made it sound like he was substituting "axe" for "ask." I looked him dead in the eye and said "The Clacks use axes, do they?" and he looked away sheepishly. I don't know that we ever got that resolved.
At one point, I'd finally got Carcer locked in a large room on the second story of a residence. I'm not sure what I thought I was going to do with him after that, but I kept having to scream at people not to open the door. I think at one point, I established that the room belonged to Brandon (my floor tutor/friend) but I told him he'd just have to deal with it until I could give Carcer a real trial. I kept communicating with the Watch back in my real time, however I eventually realized that I was in 2005 and Vimes was from years and years ago and that's when it started to fall apart and become weird. Eventually I woke up, but my mouth was dry from sleeping with it open all night. I had memories of when I was yelling at people as Vimes in the dream that I hadn't been able to pronounce certain letters because of having a really dry mouth. There's reality for you.
Oh yeah. Phoenix natives, uh... why the hell is it actually getting cold? I was promised year-round heat. I intend to write a strongly-worded letter in protest.
