@rambo @lyxzen and missy asked us, "Do you have a nickname? How did you get it?"
So, some know but not everyone on here knows, that my Sg name is actually my real name, haha.
My parents were newly married on their honeymoon in England and passed a sign that said "Exning __ miles". My mother said, "Oh wouldnt it be funny if we ever had a kid and named it Exning? It would piss off my parents so bad"
My grandmother is catholic and well, grew up in the Depression. I think we all know one oldie like that. Anyway. Little did she know that my mother was pregant (I wouldve been Elliott if I had been a boy).
My mother was right and my grandmother did not take it well. She spoke Spanish, and mostly called me "little girl" in Spanish which is "nina".
My schools are predominantly Spanish speakers, and had a hard time accepting my name, so then began the long unwanted nickname of Nina. When I was 18, I decided people could start learning how to say my damn name. (it's pronounced Ex-neen, or neeng)
Yes. Exactly how it looks. ;)
