These earthquakes you heard about yesterday actually hit a few miles from where I live, sizing up as a 7.2. I live in a small little place called Imperial, a few miles from Mexicali where the initial earthquake hit and where most of the aftershocks are hitting. It was so surreal to watch. I was stopped at a red light when I thought my car was breaking down. The poles started to sway from foot to foot and wires started to pop and burst into flames. I was next to walmart and saw a gazillion people exit out. Most places are closed from all the messes, a lot of houses in El Centro are damaged but its mostly chimneys and things made out of cemet.
My house only lost 2 tvs, some shelves, mirrors, and miscellaneous things but it was pretty scary. I looked up and saw the road sign move in waves, thinking "welp, THIS is how im going to die." lol. But, now we just have to deal with aftershocks and I heard only 2 people died from the earthquake. Luckily, these cities are built a lot better than Haiti, but it still was a large earthquake. That's a lot of earthquakes this year already..
(picture of 'last week' earthquakes refers to sunday)
Anyways, if anyone was wondering, we're all still alive over here hah
