The Best Date Ever. Period.
Yes, you read that correctly. Yesterday I went on the best date I have ever been on in my entire life. Seriously. I should probably elaborate because I know how much some of you like those details.
First, let me tell you about the man I went out with. His name is Mat - or as I call him, Monkey - and he's from Columbus. I met him through a mutual acquatance a while back and have been talking to him for a while now on a friendly level, but sometime this week we decided that we just had far too much in common and were a bit too attracted to each other to keep up the guise of "just friends" anymore and decided to go on a date and see where things went from there. So, Thursday night, when we made this decision, we decided that we must do that date Friday. Haha. I was telling you about him and somehow changed back to date story. Back to Mat. :-P He's taller - like 6'+ - has VERY dark brown hair and the prettiest blue-green eyes just about ever. He has one tattoo, on his arm, and multiple earrings. He's very smart, funny, also a vegetarian, super easy to talk to, and just a big kid, like me.
Anyways, he got here sometime around 2-ish and we sat outside and talked for a while. At some point we realized how hungry we both were and tried to pick out some place to eat. I don't know when, but I think I/we decided that the Levee would be a fun place to go eat since there were a couple options and stuff to look at and enjoy. Well, obviously, we picked Dewey's and he loved my two favorite menu items as much as I do. :-D We put in our order for what pizza we wanted, but for some reason it got lost in transit so we got a free big house salad. Yum!
After yummy food was consumed and paid for we decided to walk around outside on the Levee. Turns out there was the Harley Davidson Festival down below so we watched people walk around for a bit until he turned his gaze across the river and saw Sawyer Point. Apparently, he thought it looked like a great park so I told him we could go put the leftovers in my car and walk across the river to Sawyer Point. So, we did.
When we got over to Sawyer Point we walked down on the path that runs by the river until we got to that really fun playground under the Big Mac Bridge. I couldn't help myself, I had to play. So, we swung and talked and watched some little kids run around. Then we started doing all the stupid stuff you did when you were little: swing jousting, spinning around, ramming into each other, etc. It was sooo much fun. Then we ran around and played tic tac toe on the jungle gym and played the big xylaphones and in the sand. Then we went racing across the equipment to the tire swing and I totally beat him. At some point during our crazy race he tried to jump over some little fence but fell - hehehe. I got all situated in the tire swing and he spun me around. It was fun. Then I did him. He got dizzy way faster than I did though. Hehehe. After that and playing on another set of swings for a while we sat down on the ground and just talked for a while. It was really nice.
After we got back home, Mat met my mom and brother and had a nice talk with my mom. It was kinda nice, I mean, he is a bit older than me but my mom doesn't care and he seemed really comfortable talking to her and not trying to impress her. Made my day even better, I must say. After their conversation we headed up to my room and watched like 2 and a half hours of Southpark. It was awesome. Part way through he put his arm around me and we started cuddling and holding hands. *grins* That went on for a good while before we decided that that was enough Southpark and I saw fireflies outside the window and got excited.
We went outside and ran around the backyard catching fireflies for a while before we both ended up laying down in the grass staring up at the sky and I started making up constellations. It was actually way more fun than I think it should have been. We cuddled and talked and looked at the stars for a really long time. I'm not sure at what point but I was looking up at the sky and then I was looking up at Mat and then he kissed me. It was a really really great first kiss. Oh man. Let me tell you. We were outside on a blanket under the stars and he's a great kisser, what else could you ask for?
At some point we came inside an kissed more, nothing more, until we realized that it was 3 in the morning and he had stayed way later than he meant to and still had to drive home. I kinda felt bad, but at the same time, I was glad he stayed as long as he did and I got to spend so much time with him. I think he's still planning on coming down on the 11th for the Yellowcard show too, so yeah. And, if he wants and my mom is cool with it, since he said he's free next Friday, maybe I'll go up to Columbus next Friday and we can do some of his favorite things up there.
Now, on a different note, I also had my appointment with my new orthopaedist yesterday. Turns out that my shoulder blade isn't seated right in my shoulder and that it's causing tendonitis of my rotator cuff and the myofascial muscular strain. On top of that, I have a bunch of tearing in the cartiledge that surrounds the ball part of my shoulder joint. So, I had to get a shot of cortizon in my joint again (that stuff does NOT feel good at all for the next few days) and have to go to physical therapy again, but this time they are going to take it in a slightly different direction. Meh. At least it's not surgery.
