Since I'm too lazy to type it all out, here's the article of what happened to me last night in LA.
BOMB SCARE AT 30 SECONDS TO MARS EVENT IN L.A.Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 2/5/10 @ 12:23 AM - altpress.com
A Los Angeles event Thursday night featuring AP cover stars 30 Seconds To Mars had to be postponed due to a bomb scare at the location--the Hive on Melrose Avenue. Beginning around 8:30 p.m. PST, tweets from the Hive said: "Evacuating Due to Bomb Scare. WE WILL UPDATE," "The police are blocking off the streets around The Hive for about 4 Blocks. Stay Tuned."
Fans were gathered to watch 20 minutes of the band's upcoming documentary when a young man in a hoodie stormed into the venue with a large, wrapped box and dropped the package at frontman Jared Leto's feet. The man stood onstage and said, "It's time for a little self-help," before Leto interrupted with, "I think he's got some sort of agenda or something." Leto then grabbed the man by the arm and pulled him out of the room through a back door.
A comment below from a fan at the event paints Leto as a hero. Ozzylove wrote, " So we're all in sitting, waiting to watch 20 mins of their documentary. I was at the the back by the door. Jared came in to introduce the film and then there was a BANG on the front door (right next to me). Some dude came in (young guy with a lit cigarette in his mouth) carrying a big box wrapped in gold paper, and... See More with a big stack of $20s taped to the top. Weird. Everyone in the room watched him walk toward Jared. Jared said "someone stop him" 3 or 4 times, but no one did. The guy got to Jared, dropped the box on the floor and started to give a speech. Jared grabbed him by the shoulders and basically drug him out the back door."
At about 9:30 p.m., the Hive account said that the bomb squad had arrived and that the event would go on if possible after the location was secured.
Tweets from 30 Seconds To Mars indicated that nobody has been injured. The Hive tweeted at around 10 p.m. that the show has been pushed to Friday night. "we are going to do the event tomorrow night. sorry to everyone who waited and didn't make it in. stay tuned for more info. sorry!"

What are your thoughts on all of this?
you can actually see me and my friends briefly in the video, right after Jared pulls the guy out. I'm the guy in the black 30stm beanie against the wall. There is another video that the guy filming it posted that's not edited together like this one, and it has more reaction after Jared pulled the guy out. I'm in a bit more of that one.
Other than the weirdness that happened, that was one of the luckiest nights of my life. I drove up there with my friend Nicole and her boyfriend Brian without even knowing what the 'event' was going to be. All I was told was that it was going to be a special event and that it would be worth the trip. So since it was the day before my birthday (it is currently my birthday right now) I figured I'd go up there and celebrate with one of my favorite bands.
We hit traffic about 30 minutes outside of LA, which we were stuck in for about an hour. I was worried that we would get to the line too late and we wouldn't be able to get into the event. We were all starving, but to ensure that we'd get in, I dropped my friends off to wait in line and went to pick up food. When it was almost time for the event to start, they let everyone in until all the seats were filled, and we were 3 people or so away from the door, and I figured we'd just have to wait until the next presentation, since they had announced that they'd do it twice so that everyone in line could see it. Then a person came out and asked if anyone wanted to get into this showing and sit in the very front on the floor. Nicole, Brian and I all looked at each other and said we'd do it, which in retrospect was a GREAT decision. We got inside, sat on the very front and waited for Jared to come out. We quickly noticed that we were sitting only feet away from BAM MARGERA. That was pretty damn cool, had we waited for the second showing, I'm sure he would not have been there. Then when Jared came out he was directly in front of us. He announced that they were going to play at the Greek Theatre in LA, and I asked if they are going to play San Diego as well and he looked directly at me and said they would be playing SD for sure, again a very cool moment.
Then the whole bomb scare incident occurred, I don't really need to talk about it because of the article above.
After everything calmed back down, Jared introduced the 20 minute clip of the upcoming 30 Seconds to Mars documentary, which was fantastic. During the video, Jared sat DIRECTLY behind Nicole, Brian and I. Nicole even accidentally bumped against his legs, that's how close we were. It was pretty awesome being able to look back and see his reactions to some of the video clips. After the video, he said a few more words and then said that the bomb squad had been called and that everyone needed to exit the building. Since everyone was still mulling about, I turned around and talked to Tomo (from 30STM) and got a picture with him. Then Jared gave hugs to everyone that had been sitting up front, including myself
. When he went to hug me, I said "I met you down at.." and then he cut in "yeah man, I remember." That was pretty sweet ^_^
So I'm glad we decided to take the offer to sit in the front, because we got a good view of everything that happened, and got to sit up RIGHT next to the band (sans Shannon) and Bam Margera. If we hadn't, we would have driven back home without having done anything except wasted gas, money and time. All in all it's a night I will never ever forget. Thank you Jared for being the hero and potentially saving us all. As if I didn't already love that guy enough, I have SO much more respect for him now, which is saying a hell of a lot. Dude was already a hero of mine. It's crazy how it all worked out, if we had been a few minutes later, and been farther back in line...then we wouldn't have gotten in at all. And if we had been any earlier and been further up in the line, then we would have been at the very back of the room, instead of way up front. So thank you 1 hour worth of traffic.
