as for people self-censoring, unfortunately, I think its one of those things we've been taught. ideas like not showing family problems to "outsiders" and such.
makes me at times want to advocate for parenting licenses! so people would stop screwing up their kids! instead, well, I'm studying to be a school counselor, so hopefully I can help some of those kids out there not be so screwed up!
