I went and saw Finger Eleven last night. Unfortunately in order to see them I also had to pay for Evanescence.
It turned out to be probably the worst concert I've ever been to. Finger Eleven, for whom it was obvious many people came to see over the headliner, played for only 45 minutes, and the set list was total shit. It was the kind of set that was so bad it could turn off fans, and thats exactly what it did. I haven't had so much bitterness towards a band since I saw Tool in 2001.
With Tool I couldn't beleive that I had waited years to see a band I loved, and what I got was some static shadows and a video screen with cliche images. I understand its music, but still, if it was only about the music the speakers would be at the back and you'd face away from the stage.
As for Evanescence, they're a joke. Sound-wise it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It was just average. The performance however was like watching a high school band. You could have Avril Lavigne and her band up there and it wouldn't look any different, eccept that the Evanescene singer actually moves on stage.
Whether you go nuts on stage, use gimics, or dress funky, you have to put on a show, thats the whole point. Even my favorite band Perfect Circle had problems with this when I saw them last summer. If it weren't for Twiggy and Billy saving it I don't know how bad it could've been.

Finger Eleven is one of my favourite bands. Every time I've seen them it's been a really small club venue... maybe it wasn't that great because of the big auditorium. I find that takes away from things a bit.
I also saw A Perfect Circle in September. I thought it was fantastic. That was also a small theater, so it made it all the more intense. And I agree, Twiggy is kick ass
