California was amazing.
11 days, 3 major cities, 1200 miles and 32 hours of driving (mostly coastal), 5 hotels (6 hotel rooms), 2 concerts, and 1 dream vacation realized.
This was a trip I had been wanting to do for at least 6-7 years, and spent weeks planning to make sure that - as much as possible - it didn't get fucked up. Aside from ants in one hotel room, it was flawless.
I started out in San Francisco, walked around and over those hills so much in 3 days I sprained the LCL in my knee. Took in Metric at the Fillmore. Then drove down to Monterey to check out the Aquarium. Kept along highway 1 down the coast then to Santa Barbara. Did a drive-by of LA before checking out NIN in Cabazon, where a fluke run-in with Trent Reznor made my day. After that it was San Diego, the zoo, and some beaches before coming home.
I haven't travelled much, and have yet to leave the continent, but from what I saw California lived up to all my expectations. I hope to go back again soon, and be able to stay a bit longer.
