lilly got her face painted the other day! shes so cute.
lets see... the boy was on vacation last week, which kinda sucked because it was my week to work 6 nights due to the crazy business we get for the fourth of july. so we didnt see each other as much as i wouldve liked to. but we made the best of the time we had. we did lots of things outside. caught frogs, hiked some trails, fed some ducks, went to the zoo. it was a good time.
zoo pics:
of course lilly had to keep some of the frogs we caught. (the first day we caught 8! and i let her take 2 small ones home) i set up a 10 gallon tank for them.
the next day we went to the boys sisters house which is out in the boonies. she has a duck pond there where we proceeded to catch MORE frogs and since lillys cousin was keeping 2, she had to bring 1 big fat frog home too. so now i have a tank with 3 frogs and a tad-frog that i found. it had arms but no legs yet. pretty neat.
Yesterday lilly brought ANOTHER frog home from my dads house. i was thinking to myself **what the fuck am i going to do with all these frogs?!?!?!??!?!**.
i get a text from erich while at work, telling me he cant find the other frogs... and i am like theyve got to be in there somewhere! ill look when i get home. then i get home and erich tells me the story of how he heard a funny noise coming from the tank, and when he looked in there, all he saw was the hind legs attached to the bottom half of the new frogs torso hanging out of the BIG frogs mouth. i didnt believe it. but i searched the tank and only found 1 of the other 3 smaller frogs, hiding for dear life. probably thinking, **im next, im next, dammit, im next....**.
this morning i cant seem to find that little frog.
the big frog Devoured all the little frogs. and i was feeding them crickets and meal worms, in satisfying quantities... i guess that wasnt even for ole canni-frog. we named him corpse grinder.
among the frog tank, we have a smaller tank holding lillys other prisoners captive, her red striped salamander, nothern spotted newt, and 3 tiny tree frogs... they are more innocent and have lived complacently side by side for a few weeks now.
this one is my favorite:
OH YEAH!
this morning i candled the bearded dragon eggs.
out of the 13 she laid, 2 went bad, but i believe they were infertile to begin with. so there are 11 left. and i am estatic to say that all 11 are wriggling around and doing super! today marks day 38... it usually takes 55-75 days to hatch. i am SO excited! so if anyone is interested in buying a citrus X red/orange sandfire/blood bearded dragon baby let me know! i cant wait to see their coloring!!!! they are going to be beautiful. here are some pics of the embryos:
i am going camping next week for erichs and my 5 year anniversary! i cant believe its been this long! time flies. but if anyone in the area wants to help me out by feeding my critters and keeping an eye on these eggs, let me know! ill only be gone for 3 days. so im not too worried.
also, i am selling my geckos. just dont have the time for them. so i have a 6-7 year old breeding pair and a 2 year old albino female. with or without set ups, message me if youre interested.
well i think that about wraps it up. i need to get ready for a possible lunch date with the lovely scarlett...
take care everyone!
i love that um...newt?
also i just wanted to let you know i have the best or closest to the best, tard picture of us....
