so i work up today to having not one, but two apartments with flooded basements. good news was that the new apartment only had a little water. bad news was that we still had many things [couch, tv, ps2, etc] in the old apartment basement and there was about 3-4 inches of water there. i don't think that anything terribly expensive was ruined, but if the couch is unsalvageable, i'll be pretty pissy.
mental note: get renter's insurance.
on the brighter side went out with new cubicle-mate for her birthday where she promptly got so drunk that she could not stand and was whisked off by her man-friend. we all decided to stick it out for a bit longer and had a fine people-watching experience. we even got yelled at by a bachelorette party ... twice. i'm sorry, i didn't realize that you needed these seats as you are not planning on sitting there all night. oh? and that boa that she just handed over willingly - she needs that back? fine.
looking forward to many trips back and forth between old and new apartment over the next two weeks. non-stop excitement.
