So today I took some classes that have prepared me to go down south with the Red Cross. I will be leaving sometime around Oct 1st. My local Red Cross will be sending me to Houston (if Reta's doesn't destroy it too bad) to work with the Family Services section of the Red Cross.
I will be sitting down with families and talking to them about what exactly happened to them and what they lost. I will also be helping them fill out paper work so they can get the money and the help they need.
I will be doing this for about two or three weeks. I still don't have a job here in California after about 3 1/2 weeks of moving out here, so I figured why not go help instead of sittng on my ass. I am very excited to go do this and can't wait till I will be down there helping out. This is going to be a once in a life opportunity to do some good for others!!!
