I really like Shiva8's resolution for the New Year, to live without fear. I live in Orange County, CA, which is the fear capital of California. My neighbors and coworkers are afraid to cross the Orange Curtain and go into LA. They are afraid of anyone with brown skin. That drives me nuts.
I'm a big fan of Michael Moore's movie Bowling for Columbine, and the message of that movie is that our fear of each other is why we kill each other so much.
I think the biggest challenge will be to live without fear of GW Bush's government, and how they want to monitor everything we read and do. It always takes courage to live boldly and do the right thing, but it's even harder when you might be a terrorist because you own an almanac.
We all need to be aware of the consequences of our actions, but shouldn't let the fear of those consequences prevent us from doing the right thing. No fear!
