so, it's been a month and a half since i said boo to the suicide girls. i spent 3/4 of that time having a blast and getting into trouble, and the other quarter working. amsterdam was even more fun than i expected, and i met some great people there, who i plan to visit again, hopefully within the year. one was this rad guy named paule, who worked at a bar called the soundgarden. every time i went there they were playing garage rock that i didn't recognize. i ended up going out with him one night and we found ourselves sitting around a fire behind a squat at 6 am, with some lady friends of his from albania and rome. what a fun time we had.
i also met a really cool girl named elisabeth who worked at the theater, basically behind the counter at the cafe there which is just for employees. one day while i was wandering the city i bumped into her and we started talking. it turns out that she was getting a masters in journalism, and she was really smart and lots of fun. coincidentally, tomahwk and the melvins were playing on my day off, so i ended up taking her and a couple other people to see the show. it was super to see friends from back home, and to be able to introduce them to some foreign fans.
munich is great, too. even though it's hotter than hell. yesterday i went to see the korperwelten exhibit of, well, flayed bodies that have been preserved with some kind of plastic injection into their muscles. some one told me that it was a mixture of anatomy and art, a la gray's anantomy. i'm not sure i would go that far, but it was very interesting.
i leave here for nyc in less than a week, and then i visit the fam in RI and head back to LA in the first of september. i can't wait to see what happens then. i get in 4 days before my birthday, so i guess it's going to be a party for about two weeks straight.
