so it's been a week now, but i've been too busy to write. last sunday a dear friend of mine was in a terrible car accident and passed away. she was only 18. i'm not 100% sure, but i believe she was texting and driving when she crashed. her car went through the guard rails, flipped and ended upside down in a river. when EMT's arrived they were able to roll her car over and get her out. she passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
it's hit me really hard. she was so young, and had so much going for her. she was beautiful, smart, dedicated and so caring. just yesterday was her celebration of life, it was a lovely ceremony, a family friend, the director of our camp (where we met), and her uncle spoke. then they opened it up for people to come up and speak. it was so nice, i didn't cry as much as i thought i would, it truly was a celebration. i'm going to miss her, she was such an amazing girl. but i know that she lived life to the fullest and i was lucky to have had her in my life, if only for a short while.
i'll never forget her smile
this was her favorite horse, Montana
she was an organ donor, so she gets to save other people's lives even though she is no longer with us. she wanted to be a nurse and i think this is the perfect way for her to live on.
rest in peace Marley. i'll never forget you.

I completely agree that the organ donation is the perfect way for her to still do what she would've wanted to do, even if she couldn't have become a nurse. And I hope there's peace in knowing that there will be life where there might not have been, because of her compassion. ♥
