so today i start my weight loss journey i guess you could call it. now im going to start off by saying that i don't think im "fat" or anything, i am only a few pounds over weight but i'm not comfortable with my body anymore and i want to get back to a place where i feel ok with myself.
i'm currently just shy of 5'4" and am 150lbs.
my weight loss goal is 25lbs. but if i reach a weight that i feel comfortable with before that then i will stop. this is more about me getting back to having a healthier life style.
this is what i looked like before college
oh and heres one for kicks, this was middle school, i was barely 5 ft and barely 100lbs. woo ADHD meds that take away your apetite!!
i do NOT want to be that skinny ever again, i was wearing kids jeans because a 0 was too big. needless to say, middle school was not fun, kids thought i was anorexic and i got picked on a lot.
moving on...
in high school i used to play field hockey, lacrosse and i used to swim, but when i went to college i stopped playing. i was only riding horses which is a work out but it isnt nearly as much as i had been doing. and of course theres the issue of the food at college. almost everything they serve at my school is carbs or dripping with fat. i gained a lot of weight very quickly at college and now i have stretch marks on my thighs which i am so self conscious about. i'm also starting to get a muffin top and i hate it. and i gained weight in my face which is my biggest insecurity. i have bad skin as it is and this just adds to something i am already constantly stressed about.
my biggest obstacles are going to be eating less junk food, and not just eating a small breakfast then not eating all day only to eat a huge dinner later at night. also being such a stoner causes me to get the munchies and i always just want fatty foods. and when i was at my boyfriends all the time he never had food in the house so we ate out where ever it was cheap, usually mcdonald's or wendy's or pizza.
oh and did i mention i am not a fan of veggies? i eat like a little tike. i tend to have an aversion to anything green. i need to start including more fruits and veggies into my diet. also i LOVE pasta and bread. i love fruit though. strawberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, kiwi, mango, pineapple, bananas, yummm. but the only veggies i like are tomatoes. and i eat lettuce on sandwiches and i like potatoes, but those are a starch so too much of that isnt great.
ok anyway back to the losing weight thing.
i want to be able to fit into my senior prom dress again
it's a size two. now i know that sounds really tiny but i swear it ran big or something. i just want to be able to fit into it again and feel that pretty.
i'm going to start walking my dog every day. we have a loop that is about a half a mile, with inclines and declines. so this should be a good route to start off with. also i started weight watchers, mostly so i can keep better track of what i eat and it will keep track of the activities i do every day. i've never been one for a gym, too many sweaty people, too much hassle. i have a nice neighborhood that i can run in and some free weights and a resistance band that i can use at home to tone things up a bit. plus cardio is the best way to burn calories, and walking/jogging are good for the whole body! plus the exercise will help make my mood better, i've struggled with depression for a long time and being active always helped.
so there we have it folks! now it's time to go walk chloe!!
