Michael Jackson is dead.
Now I don't care what your opinion is about his music or his life choices.
This is a serious blow to the transhumanist movement. To me, Michael Jackson was this mythical person with unlimited funds who would and could waste money on things like transferring his brain into a computer or some other life-support machine. Perhaps he cloned himself and transferred his consciousness to that clone body so that he could re-live his childhood like he always wanted to.
All I know is that I am a little less hopeful that I'll be able to put my brain into a robot body, or my consciousness into a clone or computer before this protein based shell gives out.
