Happy New Year! Hope all is well and you all had a good Christmas. Bit late now really, seeing as it's now February, but I'm sure you'll all understand.
I'm hoping to keep this Blog relatively short, as usually I type a load of depressing nonsense about my finances or some shit, and you prob all get about half way down (spare the few who bravely read it all) and think to yourself that this is pointless, and you go to look at some boobs. Good thing this is SG right?
So I'm back with vengeance bitches! That's right. I have proper Internets. Some of you may have guessed this by my recent activity on Xbox Live. Oh yeah. Been playing a lot of Magic: The Gathering, MW2, Assassins Creed 2 and Batman: AA. Juggling that lot, trying to get them finished, so I can finally go back and finish Mass Effect in preparation of buying Mass Effect 2. Then I make the mistake of playing the Demo for Brutal Legend, to come to the conclusion that I NEED that game, as it's funny as fuck and has awesome music in it.
It's a dangerous road.
Apart from the Xbox Live version of Magic: The Gathering, the new set was pre-released the other weekend, so a few friends and I ventured to get our groove on in the Pre-Release Tournament. On the Saturday, it was a dream. Pulling amazing card after amazing card. I ended up coming 5th out of 30. This is really the first time that I've done well the few times I've attended an event, so I was pleased, needless to say. On the Sunday I came 22nd out of 26, which is pretty poor, but still, good fun on both days. Picked up some great cards and met some new folk. Good times.
Had a great, if not busy holiday period. Was round at my dads on Xmas Eve for his annual party. Then woke up with Sarah for the first time on Christmas Day. That was great. It was really nice to wake up in our own flat. About lunch time we headed to my mums for dinner. We both got Slankets. They are awesome. Boxing day was a bit hit and miss. Because of the snow, we had to cancel plans for going to Sarah's mums for dinner etc. It was a bit gutted, but Sarah and I ended up having a nice quiet day at home together. The next day I headed up north with my Dad to Buckie, to visit my Grandparents. While up there we visited some of the rest of my family, so it was good to see them. Weather, again, was pretty serious, so the drive both ways was a little longer than usual. New Year was pretty quiet too. Sarah was pretty ill, so come the bells, she was asleep on the sofa while I watched the clock strike 12 with Jools Holland.
New Years gave me a little project. Project 365. I know some people take pictures of themselves, but I thought I'd take a picture of something, and I use the word loosely, interesting each day. I've already struggled, but I've managed to get a photo a day so far, and with other things planned, I'm sure I'll get the year done. I've been taking all the pics with my iPhone and uploading them to my Facebook, so you can all take a look there. I'm thinking of what to do when I finish it. I may or may not mock up some sort of large print to hang or something. It'll be pretty cool to have my year of 2010 on my wall.
Hoping to see some of you soon. Finances are still shit, but such is life. Being made redundant at the end of March doesn't help either, but I'll cope. Things can only get better, and at the end of the day, all of the things that really matter are doing well. Can't ask for much more than that.
See you on the other side. As gnarly (Yeah, that's right. Gnarly. I'm taking it back, so shut the fuck up. ) as it might be.
Hakuna Matata Bitches!
