Welcome back TTV fans to another helping of random crap, useless shit and the usual toss that is the life of one Timothy Stables. Let the regular programming proceed.
So, Ive had an entertaining couple of weeks. Movies here and there, my birthday, SGUK meets. All good times.
I saw Watchmen on the 6th March, and I must admit, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Sure, some of the changes were typical, but I could understand why Snyder thought it was best to remove them. The ending didnt upset me as much as I thought it would either, as it pretty much ended up the way it did in the comic, albeit a couple of details. Visually I thought it was stunning. Snyders love for Bullet time was used at the best moments and was very well done. The prison fight in particular. Those that know me will be aware that I was very happy that the prison scene was nearly scene for scene in the comic, and the fact that Snyder kept the dog scene in with Rorschach meant I was smiling ear to ear like a fat kid in a sweet shop.
Speaking of Rorschach, Jackie Earle Haley did a fantastic job portraying him. Best actor/character in the film apart from The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Its going to grow on me further I feel. Its a great film, not amazing, but its done well. Its just that the comic does it so much better.
Recently, I have seen a couple of the chapters in the new Motion Comic, and I was blown away. It really is a must for Watchmen fans.
So yeah, I was happy with it.
I was only at work for a couple of days during the week that followed. I took Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (also the following Monday) off as Wednesday the 11th was my birthday. I turned 23not that it meant I grew up any more. Far from it. I feel that its only now in my early twenties, that I truly have freedom to watch whatever films/cartoons that I want, read the books/comics that I want and play with the toys that I wantyeah, toys. You heard me. I fucking love Transformers.
So Tuesday evening I finished up my work, only to be surrounded my by colleagues who only went and got me Street Fighter 4 for my Xbox 360. I was pretty shocked and touched that they went and spent that much on me to be honest. I must not be the moany, un-likeable prick that I thought I was
So yeah, I met up with a mate of mine that Ive known since High School and we headed for the pub. Pretty much got slaughtered. Sarah turned up after having her tattoo started and then another mate of mine, who I hadnt seen in about 2 years came along. It was great catching up and had a great time taking the piss out of each other after so long.
Had a nice, quiet birthday. Sarah made me an awesome Lamb Jalfrezi and Rhubarb Crumble for dinner. That made my day.
It was the first time I wasnt at home for my birthday, and it was nice just to relax and be lazy really. My mum made a big fuss about it over text message, but I just couldnt be bothered with it really.
Thursday was pretty much that same, however in the evening we went to see
Repo: The Genetic Opera.
Now, Im not usually one to go for this sort of thing, so when I heard about it, I was a bit Meh about the whole thing, especially when I heard it described as One big extended Evanescence Video. I didnt care if Giles from Buffy was in it. I didnt care that Ogre from Skinny Puppy was in it either, and I certainly didnt give a shit about Paris fucking Hilton. Still, I thought why not, so Sarah and I went with a couple of friends as the director was going to be introducing the film and doing a wee Q&A session afterwards, and I love that sort of stuff.
Fucking hell. Easily one of the best things Ive seen in ages. I loved it. The music, the visuals, the characters, the plot. All awesome. Catchy as hell. I was really impressed to hear that all of the actors did there own singing, which makes it so much better in some way. The Repo Man himself was just cool. I loved the costume, and his weapon of choice. Just awesome. If you liked The Rocky Horror Picture Show, go see/buy/rent Repo, it is, in my opinion, so much better. Gory, funny and entertaining to boot. So much so, that I now own it. Ive had one particular song (A little glass vial) in my head for days.
Apart from that, I got a couple of cool things from my friends. A wicked Wolverine mug which Im currently sipping green tea from at work. I got the new Wizard of Gore DVD featuring some Suicide Girls. Its a remake of the original, which I didnt realise existed, let alone it having SGs in it. Biggest surprise so far was the cheque my dad gave me for 250, which was very, VERY much appreiated. So Ive bought myself a couple of things, used a bit for the SGUK meet, but for the most part, Ive put it towards my debt that Ive mentioned many times before. Got a new dressing gown from mum, which was needed, as my old one was pretty much dead. So I got some cool stuff. I know my sister has got me something, but I havent seen her for a while.
I need to give a shout out to all the SGUK members out there, especially Bisley_, twiggythespider & Causy for really making the trip down and up an awesome time. I had a great time over the weekend, glad I got to finally meet so many of you and put some voices to faces. That was weird.

Good times.
The below might offend. Racial debate etc.
Those that know me will know that I am in no way a racist. Sure, I joke as much as anyone else, but I think (If this is true) that it raises a few very good points. I think it just stems down to how ridiculous PC is now a days. What do you guys think?
Anyway, I've started reading Front...I quite like it. Can't imagine why...
