So I saw Hellboy 2 last night. Sorry Batman fans, it's shits all over Batmans latest effort. Seriously, without the late Heath Ledger (RIP) playing the Joker, I would have prob fallen asleep. I really can't sum up how amazing I found Ledger as the Joker though. I've never been a huge Batman fan to be fair, so I'm pretty biased I suppose, seeing I'm a huge, HUGE Hellboy fan.
Anyway, Hellboy 2. I really fucking enjoyed it, massive improvement on the first one (not that it was bad), particularly the script and humour. Ron has really settled into the role and it's great to watch him play Big Red. Doug Jones is much better suited to Abe than David Hyde-Pearce, because Abe is never portrayed as being overly camp in the comics. Was disappointed by Johann slightly as he was so overblown, and comically Churmann, really just Seth McFarlane's Klaus character from American Dad redux. Looked amazing though. The whole film did.
I'd also say it was a further step away from the comics, and for the better - it feels like Guillermo del Toro has established his own universe, his own Hellboy, and I felt like it was easier to accept the differences between the two mediums.
Oh, I have another new T-shirt.
I was at a wedding with Sarah last weekend. It was nice to get all dressed up, but I can't help feeling that it was a bit of an odd wedding. But still , good time, decent food and the weather held out. Only thing that was annoying was that it was on a Sunday. A SUNDAY. So I and numerous others had to work the next day...weird thinking there.
Anyway, here's a pic of me and Sarah.
Isn't she gorgeous...
But yeah, I've been annoying her with the whole Penn Gillette thing. He's fast become one of my heroes. Bloody funny git that he is, plus I reckon he's my long lost secret dad or something
You must agree we look similar (and for some bizarre reason, it bothers me not a bit )
So I finish work on Friday for a couple of weeks off. I can't wait to be honest. I've been feeling bogged down as of late, so it will let me get some stuff done. Sarah is off too, so it will be nice to have more than a couple of days with each other for once. But, the best thing about it is that I'm off to Bloodstock Open Air Festival on the 14th. I really cannot wait for this. Can't wait to have a few beers, enjoy the music and chill out with some folk I haven't seen in a long, long time. I'll be sure to take some pics.
Anyway, I'll finish off now. Good little update for all you blog whores out there...we all love it really
What to end with...
Ah!
