South by Southwest was amazing. Mostly because I got to sepnd time with one of my best friends Cheryl, who flew in from Scotland for the week. We look like this:
I have been kind of a hermit the last few months, and I went out more last week than I have total since November. It was really weird. I kissed a Spanish guy (FROM SPAIN) in Creekside and gave a hipster rapper my number and sold drugs to get money for booze because I am broke. Broker than than my alarm clock that refused to BLEEP at the right hour all week. Broker than that first IPOD that you bought that you can't bring yourself to throw away because it was your first IPOD and took a lot of time to save up for, even though you can see the circuitry through the screen where MIKE JONES...BACK THEN used to scroll across.
You want to hear something REALLY shameful? Yesterday a lady from a fancy BBQ restaurant came in and wanted to donate a bag of ribs for the dogs that are going to be euthanized. My shelter is amazing, but sometimes a little beauraucratic and I knew that they wouldn't feed the dogs those bones but I wanted to be nice and so I thianked her and set them by my desk.
And, you gyus, they smelled so good.
And I'm too poor to buy food right now.
And it was like I was possessed. On my way to put the ribs in the freezer on my lunch break i ducked into the bathroom and snuck a few ribs into a stall and sat there gnawing off the tiny scraps of meat still clinging to the bone. I felt terrible as I did i t but you know what?
It was fucking delicious. Later my stomach hurt really bad.
I shot a set with Lorelei over SX and it was really amazing and I really enjoyed working with her. It was my first time with a lady...and it was great. She's a pro.
Speaking of the shelter, there was this abomination that's been there the last few days. It left on Friday but it was truly horrifying and I had to look at it every day and now you are going to have to look at it.
LOOK AT IT!
The absolute last bit of filming takes place on Monday and Tuesday. I should find some PRODUCTION STILLS to share with you. Unfortunately, the gentlemen taking said stills mostly shot pictures of his own equipment, I think.
Speaking of the shelter, as I seldom do you know, I adopted a new dog. I never in my life thought i would own a chihuahua, but then there are many things that the world has misdelivered. I named him Galahad. He's about ten years old, overweight, has dental disease and cataracts.
But i couldn't live withouth him. He was part of a cruelty seizure of about 17 dogs. I don't think he had ever been outside. All the other dogs had rescue groups step forward to take them, but Galahad was left alone in his kennel. I brought him into my office for a few days and then I realized that he had to live with me. I'd never been attached to an animal at the shelter like that before.
It's working out. Sometimes he pees in his water dish. But he's amazing.
I love everyone, I am full of love. I hope you are well right now, and not so poor you are eatnig table scraps meant for dying dogs.
