waiting, waiting, waiting, I want to get that call, email, anything! Even if the news is bad, that I am rejected, I want to know! I'm starting to go crazy here (not that I was sane to start out!). I know no news is good news, I keep telling myself that, but WTF! I am just about ready to pull my hair out- strand by strand. Ok, I am being a bit dramatic. I never thought I'd be so anxious to show the world my pics (LOL). Yet here I am- I'm loving the process though, the shoots are so fun, even if I just keep them for myself, to look at.
ANYWAY- it's hump day. I am off on Friday, so 1 more day of work for the week. I can deal with that. My leg is healing amazingly! My artist got a new gun, 3 appointments ago the gun died mid tattoo. Because he didn't have time to make a new 1 right then, because it is a major process to modify a tattoo gun, and you can't just use it out of the box, he stopped and I went back 2 weeks later to finish that one. Oh- that tattoo was my right wrist (sorry!). The 1st sitting, when the gun died, he was able to complete the outline & color the dragonfly. But it really hurt, and it took forever to heal, and really scabbed up- which I never had happen before. When I went back to get it finished he had his new gun, and let me tell you, it barely hurt, and it healed in no time, no scabbing, no bleeding, minor peeling. What a difference a gun makes! I never realized! This past Sunday he started my leg (I posted pics)- and not only did it NOT hurt at all, but it's basically healed already- again no bleeding or scabbing. Amazing. I mean I have like 80 hours of work on me, and these past few sittings with his new gun have been super easy and painless.
Then again, maybe it is the body part that makes it painless, my belly hurt the most- of all of them. My back, not the entire back, just right next to the spine and along my rib cage, those spots hurt- the rest of it wasn't all that bad. I pretty much have tattoo's on every part except upper arm, personally, I think it can be manly for a woman to have tattoo's on her biceps- DO NOT TAKE THAT THE WRONG WAY, MANY women have tats on the upper arm & it looks amazing! But they are well thought out, then I've seen some look awfull, the awful ones are what look terrible & manly. I should have been more specific & clear. I am a tattoo LOVER, so I'd never say anything looks bad, to each their own. Although, honestly, I don't understand wall art either, it's gonna be there forever, get a piece that is MEANINGFUL, don't just get ink to get it, like so many stupid people do. Well- some tats can be bad, he he, we've all seen some horrid peices I'm sure. The ones where you look at the person with pity, and give them the "oh, that's cool." the polite response. When what's really running through your head is "you paid for that? What were you thinking? Is your artist an apprentice? Where did you get that? OMG- I feel terrible that will on you forever. I'd get a refund." and then you actually say, "Are you going back for more?" which actually translates to- "you are going to have that covered up, right?" LOL.
In addition, so many people don't do research on the artist either, they walk in off the street, stare at the flash on the wall, and say "I want that" and so many studio's hire joe schmoe's with no artistic background. Anyone can learn how to tattoo- it's simple to learn, if you can color, can stand the smell of flesh & blood, and are able to inflict pain on another person, you can tattoo, but you want a REAL artist, there are way too many tattooist out there that have no art background, they just color in the lines. Even my artist is aggravated with the uprising of non-artist tattooists. He sees & fixes more tats done by them, tons of people have come to him to fix what another has done. The non-artist tattooists are fine for wall art (not really, but its all they SHOULD do)- because flash is mass produced. Like those silly tribal back pieces, that everyone has now, or the Pamela Anderson barbed wire arm band (no offense to anyone reading this that has them- they DO look cute as hell, but soo many people have them because they are so cute) You don't need to be an artist to knock out those pieces. Anyway- thats a rant, and it's my personal opinion, and I really mean no offense to anyone, so please don't take it that way.
I love looking at tattoo's- I am posted on a site right now where I am actually one of the top 10 tattoo'd females! Yippie! I LOVE my ink, I drew most of the fairies myself. My artist did all the flowers free hand, he's great. I dedicated 1 whole blog to how great he is! LOL. After spending sooo much time with a person in such an intimate way- you really get attached. I'll admit it, I am super attached to him, and I'd never have anyone else work on me, ever. He's the man. He's become 1 of my closest friends too.
Ok, I've blabbered enough for now. Back to work.... 1 more day until I have off. 3 whole days off. I want to fall into my bed, wrap myself in my silk comforter and sleep for days. I havent been sleeping well, so the thought of an afternoon nap is so appealing. I just want 8 solid hours of REM, not to much to ask for, is it????
