Yay!!! It's FRIDAY!! Whoohoo!! Alright!!!
I am sooooooooooo incredibly hung over this morning. We went to see Godsmack last night, what an awsome show! They are from Manchester- so whenever they go on tour they always do their last show here- in Manchester. Last nights show was even bigger because it was the last show of the entire tour- until they release a new album- 3 yrs. they say?? Well- let me just tell you! The show was amazing- CRAAAAAAZZZZYYYY!!!!! Beer flowing freely- people dancing all over the place- or should I say "moshing" he he... very fun. The Verizon, where it was held- has this strict "NO MOSHING" policy- BIG HUGE signs posted everywhere upon entering. No crowd surfing- no fun allowed basically. They put the same signs up for Tool a few weeks ago- too funny. Like a big white sign printed with black paint is not going to stop THOUSANDS of people from expressing themselves through slam dancing & moshing. Not to mention how damn cute Sully is! The show was really good.
They had put together a documentary of the tour- and before the show started they showed a lot of it- and they entered the stage via video- they did a little tribute thing for the Police Officer who was gunned down in October- Michael Briggs (such a GREAT guy-) a real tragedy. You know how a lot of cops are ASSHOLES through & through? They think & act as if they are better- they have super ego's & have wicked power trips- using their authority as if it were a God given right? Well, Officer Michael Briggs was the total & complete OPPOSITE of those kinds of cops. He had responded in September to a massive hit & run accident in front of our home- and he was so nice. Funny. Down to Earth & just an all around decent man. He had also worked with a group of women that I had helped a while back- I helped out a domestic abuse group- and he was 1 of the cops who was there 1 night. When he was shot (4 houses away from where I live) it was a real travesty. The stupid shit head who shot him did it at point blank range, from BEHIND him- he never even had a chance to defend himself- never saw it coming- shot right in the head- the sad thing is he lived for almost 3 days after he was shot. He was shot on a Monday morning (at 3:15 AM- 15 minutes AFTER his shift ended!! He was supposed to go home, but instead he responded to a call (about a shooting from Sunday morn.)- from the previous day, they got a tip about where the gunmen were staying- they found them alright- his poor family. I leave my home on Mondays at about 4:00AM- I had heard something, that woke me up at about 3:15, hindsight tells me it was the gun shots that woke me. When I left they had 80 city blocks barracaded- looking for this shit head & his accomplice. They caught him 2 days later, in MA. Anyway- Godsmack staff wore shirts honoring the officer- it was really a touching tribute as was the funeral in which thousands of NH residents, and surrounding states police & military- he had been a decorated Marine as well. He left behind 2 young boys, a wife & ofcourse his family. So sad. My son is a Cub Scout- and his troop all attended his memorial service- everyone was there to pay their respects- the funeral precession yielded traffic for 4 hours- thats how long it was! Motorcycle cops, mounted police, cars, fire trucks, everything! Officer Briggs was a bicycle cop- rode around the city of a 10 Speed- and he LOVED his job from we were all told.
How did I end up on that sad topic? Yuck! See what a hang over does to me??? LOL. Makes me all emotional & touchy feely! I am such a geek!
I am at work, supposed to be taking care of shit- but instead, yet again, I find myself on SG looking at all the beautiful people!! Ho hum. It's snowing, I mean REALLY snowing for the 1st time this Winter Season- and it is super cold, super windy- and just plain gross. People cannot drive when snow is on the ground. PET PEEVE #1- bad drivers! OMG they drive me mad!!!! They live in NH- they should know how to drive in a lil' bit of snow! They forget the left lane on a 2 lane highway is for passing only! Not driving 20mph BELOW the speed limit, backing up traffic for miles! You ever seen that 1 car that refuses to move over to the right, driving directly next to the car that is in the right lane? Then look in your rear view and all you see are cars for miles??? All cuz 1 car will not get out of the passing lane?? WTF? Why do people do that? I want to make a bumber sticker 1 written correctly for the rear bumper, the other written backwards for the front bumper:
Rear bumper sticker:
"The left lane is 4 passing DUMMY!"
Front bumper sticker:
"!YMMUD gnissap 4 si enal tfel ehT"
I know is won't look right the way I just wrote it- but fixed- so when they look in their rear view- they see it! Or a simple "MOVE THE FUCK OVER" would work too! ha ha..
Ok- I think I am done ranting for today. Still no answer about my set. :-( Fingers are still crossed! My lil girls are still all lit up! I'm not pink yet though, I hope they pink me.... I hope... I hope... I hope... (making wishes!! keeping hope alive!)
I'll write more later I am sure... I LOVE this, cannot get enough!
