Gotta love realizing it's almost 10pm and you haven't had dinner yet.
I had lunch today with a good friend that I hadn't seen in awhile. I had gotten so caught up in my day to day routine that I haven't made much time for friends, and it was nice to break that routine today. We went to a pub, ate off of each others plates and shared the latest news and gossip in our lives. Giggling like a schoolgirl feel so great sometimes. I also realized how much I absolutely missed him. This was a friend that I practically lived with for about a year, that helped me through a break-up and was my biggest cheerleader. It's comforting that in all our time apart, we just fall back into OUR old routine when we're together. I adore friendships like that.
After lunch we came back to my apartment and he showed me some tricks and such with Garage Band. He and a friend of his have music Sundays. They listen to and make music...they just get together and create. I've been invited to join them so I'm going to try to change my work schedule to working every other Sunday, instead of having just 1 off a month. Really hoping this works out.
After he left, I quite literally passed out. My phone woke me up about 45minutes into my "nap" and that's good, because if it hadn't rang, I probably would have woken up wide awake at 3am. I got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep last night and it caught up with me all at once. Of course now I'm wide awake. Of course! My boyfriend is out of town with family, celebrating his grandfather's 80th birthday. I couldn't get the time off of work, so I couldn't go along, which sucks but with all the sick days I've recently had, it's probably better that I work. It's odd, this is the first time since we've lived together that I've been alone for the weekend. I never really did too well with being alone, for various reasons, but I'm oddly comfortable. I was a little worried earlier when the weather took a turn, that the wind and rain may cause a power outage, haha. Leave it to me to freak out!
Oh the timer is beeping at me! Oven check
15 minutes later!
Mmmm salmon and broccoli. Also, oyster sauce is my new favorite thing. Just thought I'd share.
Well, I guess I'll enjoy my little late night dinner for 1 and then move onto my next project. I'm doing an overhaul on the music collection at work. I've made a couple compilations and so far so good. The manager actually complimented my selections which is saying a lot...seriously, if you knew her, haha. It's a spa, and the music is for the front desk area and nail room, so the music has to be relatively mellow, but I've managed to update the collection the best that I can without freaking anyone out. I've put in some Feist, Clinic, Death Cab, Rob Pattinson, Melody Gardot, Adele, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Zero7, etc...If anyone has any ideas for music, I am all ears! I'd like to get as much music as possible.
Speaking of, I think I'll try to put together some more CD's while I watch Twilight. Again. I know, I know, you don't have to say it
