The next morning, everything hurts. I can't even tell where I'm sore, because that stabbing in my head seems connected to the bruise on my lower back. I tell myself I'm not going to pop pills when I'm already drunk anymore, but I don't really believe myself.
The next morning, I find the picture of the dog. I scrape all the residue from last night... Read More
I think I like Tusk better too...they practice down the hall from GE.
Pills and blow sound like a lovely escape now that I'm back at work...I hate them long weekends. They make me tired.
Last night my sneak-away-to-make-out girl from work came over to watch Buffy, and during/after the show, we kissed a little bit. Pretty soon though, she said
"It's a PG-13 night. I'm going to go home and go to sleep."
I told her that I had been kind of hoping for an R rated night.
It hit me later on that I'd heard this same dialogue... Read More
Hey Pete..
Saw your "in a band" post..
I've been filling in for Greenhouse Effect on drums...do you know those guys? I'm slowly becoming acquainted with some of the newer stoner bands. I like Floating Goat alot...they are pretty bad-ass and Tusk is the new Gammera side project?
They are great too.
I wanna hear your band!

Life is good. I get a little down sometimes, but that's mostly just the other end of the curve from having too much fun. We can't be happy all the time or it would be meaningless, right? There's got to be something to compare it to.
It's a sad day for the San Francisco underground rock scene. Due to stupidly written permit laws and the ongoing complaints of one idiot, Kimo's will not be having live music after Friday.
Ten people are out of work, and smaller bands that are particularly loud or weird or experimental or confrontational have almost nowhere left to play in this town.
i am: just smart enough. not a musician but in a band. a writer. a dot-commie. a drunk. full of surprises at karaoke. a hopeless romantic. a cad. indecisive. full of big ideas.
i am into: sex and drugs and rock & roll. words. bowling. pool. tattoos. making important decisions by flipping a coin.
I'm sitting at home, waiting for the drummer to get back so we can go to practice. Some crazy guy with that gruff I've-been-homeless-forever voice keeps yelling out "I love you!" to no one in particular out on the street.
i was hanging out at the hemlock the other night with the drummer... mondays are "punk rock night" - good djs. anyway, he's pretty hammered, and he decides to send a beer to this cute girl who's sitting on the other side of the bar. she takes it, but doesn't acknowledge it in any way, and stops making the occasional glances up in our direction.... Saturday night was fantastic. my band played with EZ-Tiger, Red Bennies, and Slowfinger at Kimo's.
EZ-Tiger is a one man band - he would play a guitar track into a loop, add bass, add keyboards, and then drum and sing on top of it. And then there were the turntables and the breakdancing. Fun to watch.
Red Bennies came all the way out from Utah,... Read More
