I am very excited right now.
Not long ago a 3ft section of mammoth tusk washed up on shore at a beach close to where I live. According to side scan sonar images that one of my Marine Science professors and my scuba instructor have been looking at it appears that there are some nice ledges cut out about 400 yards from the beach. Current satellite imagery is showing that there is not much mud and no severe problems with visibility in the area. I have been invited to help search the area. I am very happy and excited I will be diving with two of the best divers in the area these guys are the ones who are setting up the scientific diving program here at my school and they have asked me to go on this small expedition. If weather holds up its going to be a great albeit sloppy and cold diving.
I may be coming back with some interesting things.
