Today I was given the chance to do something I've wanted to do for a long time. This should be very exciting, but given past experience I'm afraid it might fall through, so mostly it's just making me nervous. Keep your fingers crossed for me, pretty please?

Oh, and keep them crossed my house doesn't burn down, either. In a snafu of colossal proportions, my...

How are things going down there? The news I read about New Orleans is never good.

et_ux is a captivating, intoxicating individual. Around et_ux, birds suddenly appear, and choruses of angels sing hymns to et_ux's bonny face. Sadly, unless et_ux tells you more about et_ux, this is all you'll ever know about et_ux. surreal

wtf?

And since when do I have to have a "blog"? I don't want to have a blog . . . . frown
stiles:
Yeah, I know.

melladoree:
totally whatever

Alright, here's another audience participation entry.

Does anyone have ideas of good, female-affirming movies/tv (preferably not just merchandising vehicles) for Lucy? Even PBS Kids is woefully lacking in female role models. I guess Dragon Tales is fine, but otherwise, there's just about nothing. Even Sesame Street sucks--I mean, come on, can't they do better than Zoe,Rrrrosita, and freaking Prairie Dawn? What is that crap?

I wish I could hook you up with the email address of my old Womens Studies professor. She was really into keeping up on that sort of thing.

Dude I know, OUr daughter watches Bratz and these Barbie movies who wear short short short skirts and midriffs and worry about nails and boys...and Frankies four.. haha, I know theres this pig named Cuhulain and he tells Irish folktales on PBS.....And Veggietales always rocks.....But i'm not sure about female rolemodels.....Maybe Kim Possible, she's rather rad.

So, last night, I was lying around thinking about how much most porn bores or nauseates me. I decided one way to fix this would be to pick a reasonably good piece of written erotica, make it into a really well produced movie with a decent budget, and cast attractive people who can actually act in it. (This is a fantasy, go with me.) I...

No, but my environment seem to have confused April with summer. I invoke tropical rules.

As far as I know, it was just a dream... assuming the person in question is still in my hometown.

Anytime you're using google as a solution to the problems of your life, you can rest assured that something is very, very wrong,

So, is it a bad thing that I'm as picky about buying Lucy's shoes as I am mine? I can't decide between the current fuschia with white stripes and silver stars model, pink with shiny heart and crossbones, orange scalloped mary janes, and red and white bowling shoes. Or maybe I should just get her pink skull old school Vans.

Any opinions?

Why is it that Christmas vacation always leaves me tired?

Oh the other hand, I have very cute new boots. smile

(surprised to see me?) kiss
shal:
I got very cute new boots for Christmas too.

How were your holidays, other than exhausting? Reprobate says you guys may be out in this area sometime in the near future for a visit... any truth to that rumor?
bean:
Shal hasn't filled me in on any sort of update, and I'm too drunk to bother looking if you responded to her, so I'll reiterate: any truth to that rumor?

Don't mind me, I'm a wee bit drunk, so if you've already responded to Shal, just tell me, "Just look at her journal you lazy drunk bitch, jeez."

Hope you're doing well. smile

So, yesterday I woke up and realized I had had a very complicated set of dreams in which, among other things, my husband kept demanding I have group sex with dancing eugenists and I lost my daughter under a pile of laundry. I think maybe I'm a little stressed. surreal

So, if you and yours ever feel like taking a vacation to lovely Los Angeles, we'd love to see you again sometime...

Ooh. Satellite imagery seems to be telling me my house still existed on Wednesday. Lots of water all around, but it looks like maybe not actually too deep. Of course, someone could have burned it down by now, but still, this is a good sign, I think. smile

I'm going to withhold congratulations until you know for sure that everything is in relatively good shape, but yay for good signs.
twotoner:
"Hey, come with us, we'll take care of you---by the way, if you don't trust us to take care of you and yours, you can fucking starve to death" isn't the best way to reach out to these people."

If they're let in, then maybe that's the only way to get through to people.

Take a look at thisCNN Report. Some people just don't want to leave. It's been my experience that people who don't want help, usually can't be helped.

ARRR!!!
