The other week it was my birthday, it was also the day that Neils great Nan died. She was very old (in her 90's, despite how many times she told me, i can never remember how old she was) and she'd had a really good life, and she died very peacefully from what i gather. This got me thinking about families. Neils family is very odd - as far as i can see, nobody talks to anybody about anything, its like life is one big secret.
Nobody talks to Neil about his mum - he doesnt know anything about her, and this makes me sad for him, i think that he should ask, he should find out, but i also think his family should tell him things, they should celebrate her life and talk about her. - Obviously im an outsider to this and ive always been one to see things in a clear cut way, and maybe it isnt so simple as all that. Nobody talks about his dad too - it also makes me sad that his family make him feel guilty for talking to his dad - he shouldnt have to lose two parents, its all so very strange, i have never really understood what happened with his dad, neil is always very vague about it, and any tidbits of information his nan has dropped have always been full of confusion. then when we see his dad and janet, they also have another vague version of events, its incredibly hard to fathom whats going on at all.
I half wonder if the death of his great nan will unearth memories and photos and eventually they will all find a way to talk about everything frankly, honestly and openly.
I again am only opinionating, and i dont mean to cause upset by this
Finally, an apology of sorts, ive made lots of friends on here (as such) and i do so want to begin conversations with all of you, but i find it hard to regularly check to read this. It would be nice to correspond with people and if anyone woul;d like to chat with me, please let me know and we can exchange emails. dont worry though, i dont tend to stalk people - unless i think you might have a kitten i can half inch.
