"Flicksters" = Movie Hipsters. They are a growing epidemic. Just go enjoy movies and stop acting like your opinion matters to anyone else. It doesn't.
I think people just want to crap on things to fit in with this imaginary elite-club of cinephiles anymore. I imagine the situation going like this....
Flickster 1: That movie was dumb, I hated it for everything.
Flickster 2: Yeah, I can't believe they made this shitty sequel. I hated it the second I saw a trailer for it.
Flickster 1: WELL I HATED THE ORIGINAL MOVIE !!
Flickster 2: WELL I HATED IT WHEN THE ORIGINAL WAS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT !!
Flickster 1:....
Flickster 2:.....
**slapfight**
When you willingly go to a movie with robots that change into trucks or a hero with a magic ring, then tear apart the logic of said film for being unbelievable, you need to think, then promptly STFU. I heard people bitch about every movie this summer, including the fantastic Super 8 and it just feels like many people just don't WANT to enjoy these movies. Summer is all about the popcorn, I thought everyone got the memo when 15 years ago an alien spaceship blew up the White House.
Some films are meant to make you think, others to engage and some to purely entertain. I think too many people feel they need to be all at the same time. They don't.
