never ever ever ever ever trust the post office.
i applied to a school in miami recently and was waiting for my last letter of recommendation. my teacher very very graciously sent it express mail.
the mailman, there are no words harsh enough to describe his cruelty and idiocy, left a card saying sorry he couldn't deliver it and on the reverse there was a spot where you could request they redeliver the package and the would leave it wherever you specified...

i filled in the card, signed, and asked that it please be left with the office as soon as possible. days go by...i add increasingly frantic notes trying to convey the urgency of my receiving this package.
yesterday i went home after waiting for this asshole to leave the fucking thing for over a week to find the card with a new note scrawled on it...
Sorry - this is not at post office. we return express mail after 5 days to sender.
wtf!!! i think i literally died of impotent rage. i mean what can i do? i followed their directions and trusted that they would do their jobs...i feel completely violated and pissed off...
