Since I've been gone...
I've done A LOT of soul searching recently. I've discovered a few things about myself that I think will help me to be more successful in the future.
I have so many ideas(who doesn't) but I realised the difference between those people who get recognised for their ideas are people that actually DO them. And it's not that I am lazy, it's just that I want to be busy so I start a lot of projects at the same time and never seem to complete any. You have no idea how many times I've had an idea never done anything about it and then about 5-10 years later I'll see it and go "Fuck! I had that idea ages ago"
I got some advice a while ago from some guys I used to work with who won a lot of awards (For those that I'm not well aquainted with I work in advertising as a creative, well... Most of the time.)
I've also discovered that as a creative person I am too broad strokes. I have always loved being this way, it has give me great perspective because I don't get bogged down by detail. But I now realise that no one, particularly when your ideas are truly avant garde, understands them better than you do. And no one wants to get behind something they don't understand.
So currently I'm working on a few projects:
- a 3 piece art installation
- a mixed media series of work
- writing a pilot of a mock-reality show(is there any other kind)
- writing a novella
- helping create a summer cocktail list for the bar I work in
- And finding a decent job in advertising (which involves revamping my portfolio)
So you can see why I'm so all over the shop.
I've also resolved to say 'yes' more often. Because I missed too many oppourtunities recently and at other times in my life because I was too scared to say 'yes.'

Everyone experiences what you're talking about! Someone once gave me this golden advice...... "If you just get on with the minutes, the hours will take care of themselves!"
Best piece of advice I've ever been given
