My favorite movie is Thirteen.
Thirteen is a 2003 semi-autobiographical drama film directed by Catherine Hardwicke and written by Hardwicke and Nikki Reed, based on Reed's teenage years.
It tells the story of two friends who knew each other at school. Tracy Louise Feeland (Evan Rachel Wood) is an exemplary student. Evie Zamora (Nikki Reed) is the most popular girl at school.
Tracy always wanted to be friends with Evie, then one day Evie calls her out and shows Tracy Evie's world. At first it seems like a perfect and long lasting friendship. But over the time after various conflicts and psychic overload Tracy begins to act completely differently going through a terrible transformation and creating conflicts with everyone close to her, especially her mother.
It is an extraordinary film that caused controversy after its release because it deals with topics such as drug and alcohol abuse, underage sexual behavior and self-harm. It's just amazing, I learned so many life lessons with this movie, I coincidentally watched it at age 13 and opened my eyes at the time to attitudes that I was having and that I was considering to have too.
