So I thought I would take a break from my completely boring class to give you a small little update on my life. As my previous blog mentioned, I was going on a trip to see the Cerebral Palsy specialist a week ago. Well, I got good news and bad. The x-rays came back normal, so that is the good part. There no deformities for the most part in my pelvis, hips, or spine. YAY! However, I did find out that I have a mild case of arthritis and scoliosis in my spine. and I have some deteriorating disks in my spine as well. So this explains a lot of the back pain I have been having, but not all of it. The specialist ordered a CT scan to see if the 12 spinal taps I had as a youngster has caused nerve damage to my spinal cord. She felt some indentation in the area, so she is almost certain there is scar tissue. Not a good thing. I am going this week for the scan. Since I have crappy insurance I must rely on aspirin patches until she can get me approved for better medication. She wants to still do the Botox injections and now Novocaine patches for nerve pain, both of which my insurance doesn't want to pay for. I hate the American health system.
On a brighter note, Tsubasacon 2011 is in 8 days. It is an anime convention that is held in Huntington, WV every year in October. This year it just so happens to be October 7-9, which is uber cool, since my 30th birthday is the 10th. My boyfriend and I are planning to do something extra special while we are out of town for my birthday and I plan on updating my wishlist soon and will be posting it in case anyone would like to send me a birthday card or something. That would be so cool to get SG birthday cards. That would be better than gifts in my opinion.
Another cool thing I am doing this week is doing a very special AVON E-Party to help a local pooch in need. The E-Party starts tomorrow and will be sure to post the appropriate links, but the dog is named Kendal. She was recently diagnosed with glaucoma and as a result is nearly blind. Her family is trying to get her treatment to restore some of her vision, but the medical bills are piling up, so I am dedicating a special AVON party to Kendal in which 70% of all profits will go to Kendal and her family. More on that later....Until then here is a picture of Kendal.

It's too bad I missed the party. Does the family have a charitable donation page set up online somewhere?

Hope the CT scan goes well
