I'm finally awake and feel that yesterday deserves to be made known. Or at least spoken about because it makes me so giddy that I want to shout.
A very very good friend (check hero) took me along on what was to be her adventure. And it was pure bliss.
She was in a very abusive relationship just over a year ago and it resulted in a pregnancy. This asshole beat the hell out of her when she was seven months pregnant but the cops didn't find enough bruising right after it happened to find her "story" believable. So she left and ended up homeless and pregnant. She eventually found this lady that she was talking to about giving up her baby when it was born. And this lady got her over to a volunteers house where she stayed the first two months after the baby was born. Before my friend was able to get to a stable enough point to take care of the baby because she didn't want to have to give him up.
Point being, the first lady I spoke of was named Debbie. She has helped so many women find ways to keep their baby or find parents wonderful enough to make it comfortable to make the choice to give them up. And I think they said she's helped over 5 hundred and some odd number children in the past twelve years or so.
Point being, my friend and her now beautiful 14 month old child (who I adore) were invited to disneyland for the day, along with MANY other families to celebrate the work that this women has done. She didn't find out until we all ran out that we were there, but it was so beautiful. And all expenses were paid by the one and only Oprah. No one knew she would be there, though it was for her show, but five people. It was crazy. I love that woman. I think she is amazing. And I know how much she means to my friend. And this woman and her stories were both happy and completely heart breaking. I was a lost cause. Crying to the maximum. And she was so gracious and humble in person it was just blissful.
And as a bonus we got to spend an entire day at Disneyland for free! Us, and another couple (though we aren't an actual couple I couldn't find another way to put it) and their gorgeous baby who is the same age as "our" little one. It was such a great fucking day. No stress. Just pure joy. And I had to get it out.
And now it's time for bed. Again.
