Okay People, New Pics up in the hopefuls now. They're getting better!
I also posted the following in the topics there:
Still using the Mercury 2.1 MP that has a flash, 4x zoom and lcd display.
We used 6 lights, and set them up a little different this time. We pointed the soft white floor lamp directly at me by laying it horizontal across the table and love seat in front of me. A a soft white desk lamp on the left side of the set, on the floor. A hallogen clip lamp facing the left/front side, a soft white clip lamp on the right/front side, a desk lamp point from the above right side and a floor lamp to the right that pointed towards the ceiling. No flash was used. Any adjustable lights were moved to project the light directly at me, whether standing or sitting. All bulbs were 50-70 watt.
I hung up my Mushroomhead baby dolls for lack of anything having to do with Halloween in my house- besides the jack o lantern and the bunny ears- which can go several ways.
Dressing up like a man was not only the easiest costume I could come up with but sort of symbolic of my penis envy and pirate obsession. You see, the ladies would sneak onto pirate ships dressed as men because, of course it wasn't proper for a lady to be a pirate for many reasons.
When I decided to start a shock rock/ horror metal band about 3 months ago... I had to decide on some sort of persona or gimmick to sell myself and the band. Everyone has one, just think about it. Everyone from Marilyn Manson to Eminem have their personal styles that make them identifiable. Madonna's style is to always have a different style. Michael Jackson is just scary. There's old elvis/young elvis looks. Johnny Cash being the man in black. I think you get it.
I thought that taking this pirate idea and making it my own might just work. I came up with many ideas like;
having the whole band wear the preppiest or most "popular"clothing we could find, sneaking on the ship, if you will... this way
then ofcourse, I could always try taking on man-like qualities since metal is a male dominated art form... sneaking aboard this way.
most recently, I came up with the concept of wearing something of the fashion of a jilbab...or the full gown/dress that muslim women wear. you know, since censorship is running rampant, boobies are bad nowadays, women aren't common in metal or really taken too seriously in much that they do and still, one of the things claiming more lives of women around the world, more than almost anything else are the men who are supposed to love them... this might be my choice.
I want my Jilbab to be different though... instead of showing my eyes, it will only show my mouth... and that is about all I will sell my sexuality on. Maybe a little ankle, or the shroud can be some what transparent with something provactive underneath...but I want to be mysterious...so let's make this our little secret okay? I am coming to the members, staff and girls who are this site for advice, opinions, critiques, brainstorming sessions and any thing else anyone can offer of a creative nature. I really want this project to work and I have the confidence in myself and music to make it work. Now I need an audience to cater too. Think of it as being able to help create a band and possibly a legend!
So, sorry about that ramble. Back to the photos. I guess I really don't know what else to tell ya about them? Any questions?
