So, I'm "home" in CT for the moment and finishing up last minute stuff for a Cancer Society fundraiser I am helping my "adoptive family" with. My girl Jenny, her sister, and her mother all "adopted" me years ago and I have been helping them with this yearly event for four years now. The funny part is peoples reactions when I tell friends and family that I am organizing all the chaperones for a team of around 100 high school girls. For some reason people feel that me chaperoning high school girls is gut-bustingly funny. It's not so funny after weeks and weeks of me calling and e-mailing you to get you to commit to chaperoning and I don't let up until you give in. Luckily, almost all of my friends are women (and very tolerant) as it is somewhat like bodyguarding the Abercrombie catalog. My father was diagnosed with cancer nearly on the date of the event three years ago and died nearly on the date of the event almost two years ago. The girls on the team (it's an event called Relay for Life done all over the country yearly) all know me very well by this time, but don't know about my dad and therefore why it's become such a personal issue/obsession for me. Luckily (for all my extremely patient and generous friends and family) we are having the event in two weeks and I can stop the near constant harassment. I am finally getting all this organized on paper and, after this weekend, can relax

So, looking at the weather and it looks like it may rain this coming weekend... I know there is a lot of time for the weather to change, but rain overnight would seriously suck.
Anybody want to see what we're up to can go here: Relay For Life. Thank you for the good words and if you're in the area feel free to drop by.
kissesnkittylix is helping out for the second year in a row...
