So, I'm wandering around like I always do when I have some down time and this time I have ended up in Boston. My cousing lives in the traditionally very Irish section of South Boston, or Southie, and I always have interesting conversations with people there when I walk down the street with my Yankees hat on. My momma always told me I should make new friends wherever I go... The conversations generally start out like this: "Hey...nice fuckin' hat...you fuckin' lost or sumthin'?". It can go downhill from there... The other problem is that I cannot bear to watch sports on TV, so don't know (or really care) if Boston is doing better than NY, etc. Was sleeping this morning when my Secret Service ex-girlfriend current close friend and family member's most recent ex-boyfriend dropped off a garbage bag full of clothes, pictures (with broken frames), dvd's, a watch she had given him (with the face smashed), and some other crap on her front porch. It probably didn't help him to see my truck parked in her driveway... I would be more than happy to discuss his relationship shortcomings with him should he decide to be a big boy, but Shannon won't let me. Maybe it has something to do with me saying to her that I would start our conversation out with "So, you dropped by when Shannon and I were in bed together to drop off her stuff...". My friend side wants her to be happy and to have him act his age, have some dignity and simply go away... my adolescent male ex-boyfriend side is still giggling quietly to himself. Shame on me. The adolescent side also suggested she simply shoot him and move on, but she insists this is not an option... oh well...
In my defense, I never pulled any of this Junior High School crap when she and I split up, and that's why we can still be so close; even when they were together and she called for advice. I am hoping that this is his last little melodramatic gesture before he lets it drop...we'll see. Think I'll go to Newbury Comics and Trident Bookstore later and buy a bunch of new music and books.
