I'm very curious as to the physical and spiritual effects that things like meditation, drumming, dancing, chanting, contortionism (I didn't even know that contortionism was a spiritual thing until recently), among other things.
I bet it's like no other drug. Although some Indians and Shamans do induce drugs, most of these "natural" beings stick to the basics of art, meditation, all of the recently stated above.
But like I said earlier it's probably not like any other drug. In a society like American where if we want something we get it right away and of course espresso's we are raised to get things now (when we want them).
Meditation, drumming, chanting take practice, they take time, therefore many people in our type of society do not know the effects that take place in these spiritual moments.
It is an alternative, drugs are illegal and wear out after doing them for so long. Take your time and seek long term happiness. You don't need it now. Practice contortionism.

We do live in a 'quick fix' world. That's why I want my coffee NOW! An IV of it would be even better. Seriously, though, I think spirituality is important...whatever path you choose.
