Europe... why don't I live there?
I just got back from Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. Such beautiful cities.
Vienna is like walking through a museum. Every building looks hand crafted by an artist, and it's so clean and manicured. And the Italian food is second only to Italy. They have an art museum there with a lot of works from Gustav Klimt, including The Kiss, and Egon Schiele, including The Four Trees and The Hermits. Absolutely stunning paintings.
Budapest has so much history to it. Perhaps only Prague is more beautiful in its historical parts. The Paliament, the Castle, and the St Stephen's Cathedral are breathtaking.
Bratislava is so cute, compact and non-tourist yet. And cheap! Picture it's size as being Ottawa to Montreal. You can walk everywhere and see everything in two days. The castle there is just as it was 800 years ago. No guards, no tours, no signs. It's just there. You can walk right up to it. There are a lot of shops that have a lot of hand made goods, mostly glass work and candleholders and things like that.
I'd post pictures but they were all taken with a regular film camera.
Off to Baltimore next week - not quite as glamorous
